HERE WE ARE IN THE SOUTHWEST AGAIN

We arrived in California on Nov. 5th. The weather has been pretty good. A little bit of smog. On the 9th I flew to Spokane to get my 6 month check up. Other that finding arthritis in my lower back and hips I passed with flying colors. It was really nice to see Tiffany, Tom and Joey. Tiffany and Joey took me to see Lion King. It was great and I enjoyed every second of it. The best part was watching Joey's reaction to the show. When I got back to CA. we visited with Steve's parents. Tomorrow we are driving to Fallbrook to see our friends the Lees. Haven't seen them since we left Spokane in 2001. We are real excited to see them. Thursday Steve, the dogs and I will pack up and head to Phoenix. We'll leave Phoenix the day after Thanksgiving and head to Emerald Cove on the Colorado River. Be there 2-3 months. I'll write more when are next adventures start.

OUR LIGHTHOUSE ADVENTURES COME TO AN END

We will be leaving the Oregon Coast on Sunday Nov. 1st. We have had a wonderful time here and have met so many wonderful people from all over the world. This has been a good healing process for me. We have signed up for next year and will work Aug, Sept and Oct. We will miss it here but are looking forward to moving on. The Oregon Coast is a beautiful place to visit and this area (Bandon) we recommend to our RV friends. Bullard State Park is great, very clean (thanks to us hosts), has full hook ups and plenty of thing to do (that are close by). We wanted to go and visit Chinook Bend (out side of Lincoln City)while we were here but it was too far for us to go on our days off and still get back here to work.

Our next stop will be Cherry Valley CA. This is where Steve's parents live. We'll be there 2 weeks. On the 9th I will fly to Spokane for my Check up and will be there 5 days. I'm scheduled for a cat scan and bone density test and my general 6 months check up. While I'm there Tiffany and Joey are taking me to see Lion King. While I'm in Spokane Steve will hang out with his parents and take care of the mutts.

After Cherry Valley we will head to the Phoenix area to spend Thanksgiving. I have a daughter, son and 5 grand kids that live there and haven't seen in over a year. I also have cousins there that I haven't seen in lots of years. I want to see my cousin Jay who has been fighting cancer all this year. It will really be good to see everyone. My big mission is to take my mother's ashes into the Pinal Mountains (if the weather cooperates), to be with her brother.

After Phx. will head for the Parker AZ area and stay along the river for a couple of months. We'll be there during Christmas and have Christmas with our friends from Tucson and Steve's Parents. More later......

THE LIGHTHOUSE HOSTS HAVE ARRIVED

We stayed at Patricks Point for a week and had a fun time visiting with Shannon and Aaron. The weather was good, although we had alot of fog every morning.

Our next stop was Klamath River, CA. This is a beautiful area. Our site was facing the river and saw alot of wildlife. Nice campground except we had to pay $5 extra for the view.

We arrived at Bullard State Park on the 30th of Aug and are now officially light house hosts. This park is beautiful, clean and large spaces. The other hosts are really nice and we have met a few that are lots of fun and hope we stay in touch with them.

Our friends from Tucson came up here to visit. They stayed a week and as usual we had lots of fun and they fell in love with the area. The first night they were here we went into Bandon to have dinner. While we were in town a pod of Orca whales came up the river. It was a spectacular sight and of course we did not have our cameras.

We are having a great time at the lighthouse. We have met people from every corner of the globe. We decided to stay here for October instead of going North to Heceta Head. We have cell phone and computer access here and would have none at the other camp ground.

There is so much to see in the area, we love it. Its beautiful here. Its to bad the winters are so rough or I would live here year round.

I have pictures, to add to the blog, but I'm having a hard time downloading them. So be patient and I will get them downloaded. I need Captain Kunde's help....... More later.

PLEASE ONLY DRY CAMPING IN EUREKA, NV

Since I last wrote we stayed in Delta Utah, Eureka Nevada and Washoe Valley. Our stay in Delta was interesting but hot. The RV park was OK. We would recommend it if you only stay for a couple of days. Steve went Trilobite hunting and found about eight. He was excited because he has wanted to do that for years. I'll post a picture soon so you can see what they look like.

We stayed only one night in Eureka. The town is a really interesting old western town. A lot of things to check out. The people are scary rednecks and not to friendly. The RV park was one of the worse We've been in. The town only has 2 RV parks and both are awful. We wish we had pulled off the road and just dry camped.

We stayed one week in Washoe Valley (our old home). Hooked up at our friends (Dick and Sue) home. Had a really good visit. Saw a lot of our friends (that we miss a lot). We almost have are friends Greg and Rosanne talked into RVing. Missed seeing our adopted daughter Trinie (and Scott) because she was out of town. Jim and Marilyn treated us to a late night of wine drinking on their nice deck. Hope to see everyone soon again.

We are currently At Patrick's Point in Northern California. The RV Park is called Sounds of the Sea. Very nice RV park. And we CAN hear the ocean and sea lions. We are here for a week. Shannon (Steve's youngest daughter) lives close to here so we will be visiting with her and Aaron. Today is really nice weather except for the morning fog (which was gone around 9am). We will do some hiking while we are here because they have some great trails along the ocean. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.

On a personal note......my hair is growing back and its not the same hair I lost. Its black and gray and very curly. I'm slowly getting my energy back. My Chemo brain is still rearing its ugly head every once in awhile, but I guess real soon I while have to stop blaming things on the Chemo brain and rack it up to old age. Steve is doing very well and putting up with my orneriness. The Puppies are doing well except Flo Jo picked up her allergies when we were in NV. and we are still treating them.

We'll talk later.........xxxooo

DELTA UTAH "OH MY"

Here we are in beautiful down town Delta "Not". We are staying in the Antelope Valley RV Park. Its a nice park, but I think I would enjoy it more if it wasn't so freaking hot here. Our thermostat said it was 107 yesterday. Steve wants to go look for fossil Trilobites Wednesday or Thursday, but it will have to get a lot cooler for me to go (sorry Steve). I think I will be watching the rest of 24 and some new DVD's that our friends loaned us. We already committed to staying here through Friday so... here we stay. Steve should have a good time rock hounding and fossil hunting. A lot of people staying here have ATV's , great place to off road. Sat. morning we will head to Eureka NV. and stay over night. Sunday we will make it to Washoe Valley.

We just spent a week in Glendale UT. with our friends Jim and Bobbi (from Tucson). Had a really good visit (miss you Bobbi and Jim) and saw a lot of beautiful country. We really wish Scott and Frankie could have gone with us (hope your feeling better Frankie, love you). We Recommend Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park to ALL of our RV friends. If your in the Bryce or Zion area Glendale Utah is the Place to stay. Also visit the Buffalo Grill just down the road from the RV Park. The grill is a fun place to go and the food is good. SHOULDN'T I GET PAID FOR THIS ADVERTISEMENT, tee hee.......

On August 15th there will be a celebration of life for a wonderful person, Kevin Wymer, at Chinook Bend OR. Kevin passed away from Cancer, but before he left he was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all. We wish we could be there. Best wishes to Lisa and all our friends at Chinook Bend.

Southern Utah

We arrived in Glendale Utah on Monday the 27th. Really pretty and we recommend this RV Park (Bauer's Canyon Ranch). Went to Zion yesterday. It was very busy but as beautiful as ever. Been hot here (90). Our friends that we are with are from Tucson and said the weather is perfect. Just hanging out at the camp site today, maybe we'll go to Kanab later in the day. More later.......

I know, I know...There are friends and family who have waited two years for this blog to get started. Well here it is! We started traveling May 2007 and been in all the states in the West. We are considered South Dakota residents now, but have only been there once. Steve and I just got back on the road as most of you know. We stayed in Spokane WA. 9 months, while we fought my cancer. Thankfully we were able to stay with Tiffany and Tom while I was going through Chemo, that was a life saver. I finished Chemo in May and after tests and such we headed out on the road again. I want to thank all who supported me during my travel with cancer and hope to see you all soon.

We arrived in Oakley Utah on June 27th and will leave here July 27th. We have been staying at Scott and Frankie's (Steve's Brother) Cabin in Weber Canyon. Our motor home is parked right along the Weber River(it is so beautiful here). It has been a wonderful stay and has helped in my recuperation. Scott and Frankie have been great to us and we are soooo thankful we were able to stay here so long. I think I'm ready to face the world again, bald head and all.

When we leave Weber Canyon we will head south to Glendale Utah (near Zion and Bryce Canyon) where we will meet friends Bobbie and Jim (from Tucson). Scott and Frankie will go with us for a few days. We'll leave Glendale and stay 5 days in Delta Utah. In Delta Steve will do a lot of rock hounding and exploring. Then its off to Washoe Valley (get ready Dick and Sue, here we come). We have lots of friends in Washoe (where we use to live). We'll arrive on August 9th and leave on the 17th . From there we will go to Patricks Point in Northern CA. Steve youngest daughter lives near there. We will be staying in a RV park over looking the Ocean.

September 1st we will report for duty at Bullard State Park, OR. There we will be light house hosts for a month. October we will be lighthouse hosts at Heceta Head lighthouse in central OR.

As we get to these places I will blog whats happening and add pictures. See some of you soon.....
